Handrail Guide Specification

1.0 Scope
1.1 This specification covers the requirements for Enduro Composite SystemÕs non-metallic vertical ladders and cages.

2.0 Standards
2.1 The ladder and cage assemblies shall be constructed to meet the requirements specified in OSHA 1910.21.

2.2 All ladder components shall have a polyester surface veil in addition to a UV inhibitor in the resin system to protect against degradation from ultra-violet light.

2.3 All ladder components shall past the ASTM E-84 flame spread rating of 25 or less.

3.0 Materials
3.1 All ladder and cage structural shapes shall be manufactured by the pultrusion process, and contain
a minimum of 50% glass by weight. They shall be 2" square x 1/4" wall tubing with a 3/8" radius on the external corners.

3.2 All ladder and cage structural shapes shall be manufactured with isophthalic polyester or vinyl ester as required by the surrounding environmental conditions.

3.3 Ladder rungs shall be 1" diameter solid thermal cure rod with a non-slip surface.

3.4 The rung shall penetrate the wall of the siderail and be bonded and riveted to said siderail, thereby providing a structural connection that is both chemical and mechanical.
