Enduro's Tuff Span® Fluid Control Baffle Systems
Enduro's fiberglass baffle systems are pre-engineered structural walls, composed of fiberglass baffle panels and columns, which are more environmentally friendly than redwood, and eliminate foundation structural issues with their lightweight characteristics.

Specifically designed for submerged flow control applications in potable water and waste treatment facilities, and lower in overall installation cost, Enduro baffles are packaged as kits and are erected significantly faster than conventional concrete and concrete block systems.

Considering our baffle's advantages on environmental friendliness, faster installation times, and weight versus conventional redwood and concrete, a customer is quickly lead to determine Enduro baffle technology as the flow control solution of choice.

Having Trouble Meeting Federal Regulation
for Water Treatment Quality?
Historically, treated water storage tanks and reservoirs have been erected to secure a water system's hydraulic reliability while associated water quality issues have been ignored. However to meet demand, large volumes of storage are required, increasing detention times, and resulting in inconsistent water quality and regulatory compliance shortfalls.
  THE PROBLEM
Excessive residence times, coupled with hydrodynamic short-circuiting also known as recirculation zones), results in aged water that can significantly reduce disinfectant residual content. Similarly, short-circuiting in clear wells and ozone contact chambers can result in ineffective disinfection, small values of CxT, and ultimately, serious regulatory problems.
  HERE'S WHY: REAL LIFE COMPLICATIONS
In most water basins, these conditions generally apply

Not all particles move at the same speed.

Some particles will spend 1 hour in the basin for example, while other particles remain for 2 days.
The culprit is Recirculation Zones!
  THE SOLUTION
Water quality improvements can be achieved by proper design and placement of inlets and outlets, and the installation of baffles and flow structures into strategic locations within a basin. Historically, the design relied more on intuition and experience, and frequently lacked scientific credibility.

Improved Design
With proper design of your reservoir, clearwell, or sedimentation basins, Tuff Span® baffles can help to maximize your T10 times by significantly reducing short-circuiting. Further, by increasing the T10 times you effectively lower the DBP's (Disinfection byproduct), reduce operating costs and gain consistent disinfectant residual. The key to better basin performance is to understand your current fluid dynamics. This can be accomplished by performing a series of tested Hydrodynamic Computations and, with this information, design an optimized flow system incorporating proper baffle placement. This method would show improved flow performance, maximize your T10 times, assist in helping your plant to comply with federal regulations, and greatly increase your operational efficiencies.

WHY USE TUFF SPAN® COMPOSITE BAFFLE SYSTEMS?
FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Eliminates Foundation Crack Concerns — Enduro's baffle system weighs less than 6% of what a concrete or CMU baffle system would weigh in the same profile. Due the dead load reduction on concrete foundations, the potential for water leakage through new or existing basin foundation cracks is significantly reduced and provides a much higher peace of mind for the owner and structural engineer who has these concerns.

Endurance —
Tuff Span® Baffles are designed to last for many years in a corrosive environment vs. the use of traditional materials such as concrete, wood, steel, or aluminum.

Testing — Tuff Span® Baffles have been structurally tested, fire tested, and meets the NSF standards for materials used in potable water.

Lightweight — The Tuff Span® Baffle weighs less than 6% of what a concrete baffle system would weigh in the same profile, making it easier to handle and install. When retrofitting a basin, the weight of the baffle structure and supports would significantly decrease the dead load. Further, Tuff Span® baffles are easily adaptable to fit existing beams or columns.

No Maintenance — There is no need for maintenance, as our composite materials are made with premium grade resins and reinforcement material, giving it excellent weathering (i.e. UV protection) characteristics.

Removable— These lightweight baffles are designed to be removable allowing for easier access and cleaning of the reservoir.
