FRP Dampers

Enduro has been involved in the design and manufacture of corrosion resistant dampers for over 20 years. Over the years we have fine-tuned our design to make our product the best on the market. Innovations include:

  1. FRP Packing Glands in lieu of cheap PVC compression fittings for shaft seals
  2. Captured blades where in the past, blades were simply bolted to one side of a shaft
  3. Special blade design, which eliminated the need for blade stops
  4. Product-specific tooling which has made each unit a standard product
  5. Addition of a bubble-tight model with PTFE seal

Enduro offers three primary control dampers, Model B01, LL02, and SO03.

MODEL B01 is a round or rectangular air control device designed to balance or fine-tune air volume at any given point. These units can be manufactured in a variety of shapes and lengths. They can also be integrated into a duct system or fittings. The B01 has no internal seals. Typical locations where this model would be used:

  1. Intake point in a ductwork system, used to balance the airflow.

MODEL LL02 is a round air control device designed to balance or isolate air volume at any given point. These units are typically built in a flange by flange configuration but can be customized. The LL02 has a specially designed blade and seal configuration. The benefits of the LL02 isolation unit is a low-leakage rate (less than 1.5 cfm/ft2 at 12” differential pressure), low pressure drop and high corrosion resistance. The LL02 requires no bladder stops or blade stops which increase pressure drop and the opportunity for corrosion due to acid build-up. Typical locations where this model would be used:

  1. Intake point in a ductwork system, used to balance the airflow and where isolation may be desired.
  2. Fan outlet, in this case the unit may be used to throttle of isolate the air flow to a desired airflow.

MODEL SO03 is a round air control device designed to provide to provide absolute isolation. These units are only offered in a flange by flange configuration. Each part of the SO03 is manufactured using precise tooling due to tight tolerances. The SO03 utilizes a PTFE O-ring seal. This material offers the highest level of corrosion resistance available. The PTFE is also self-lubrication so the parts will not wear. The SO03 provides for a bubble-tight seal. BPI is the largest manufacture of composite bubble-tight dampers in North America.

AIR CONTROL DAMPERS; INLET VANE, MULTI-BLADE AND BACK-DRAFT

The BPI VARIABLE INLET VANE damper is designed for installation on a fan inlet. The unit pre-spins the air in the direction of fan rotation, increasing fan efficiency and reducing utility costs.

The BPI MULTI-BLADE CONTROL damper is designed to control the amount of air through a rectangular section of ductwork. Typically found on inlet boxes or the outlet of large fans, these units can be manufactured in either a parallel or opposed blade configuration. All non-composite components are 316 stainless steel. Shafts seals utilize a double-o-ring design to prevent leakage.

The BPI BACK-DRAFT damper isolates the air stream from back-pressure created by multiple fan systems. These units have 316 stainless steel external counterweights which cause the unit to close when airflow in the normal direction stops.
